Danya Returns to SED for Further Work Experience

  3. Danya Returns to SED for Further Work Experience

One of the most rewarding outcomes of work experience is seeing a placement make enough of an impression that a young person wants to come back.

Earlier this year, Danya joined Service Electrical Distributors Ltd for a work experience placement arranged through Elevate Education Business Partnership.

The placement clearly had a positive impact, because later in the year Danya contacted Callum Redfern at SED herself to ask whether she could return for additional work experience during the summer holidays.

Her first experience at SED was positive enough that she contacted the team herself and asked whether she could come back.

We were delighted to welcome her back.

Danya is now spending part of her summer break gaining even more valuable workplace experience, continuing to build her confidence, develop new skills and learn more about the day-to-day working environment.

Work experience can play an important role in helping young people understand the world of work, develop communication and teamwork skills, and gain confidence in a professional environment.

For employers, it also provides an opportunity to give something back and help young people take their first steps towards future education, training and employment.

At SED, we are proud to support opportunities like this and to help create meaningful experiences that can have a lasting impact.

A huge thank you to Callum for continuing to support Danya during her time with SED, and to the wider SED team for making her feel welcome and giving her the opportunity to learn and develop.

We would also like to thank Linda Martin and the team at Elevate Education Business Partnership for the work they do in connecting young people with local employers and creating valuable work experience opportunities across the Liverpool City Region.
